The Food Bank of Northern Nevada partners with Desert Skies Middle School and the Sun Valley community. Mobile Harvest is a type of outdoor Farmers Market complete with fresh fruit, potatoes, veggies and much more. The mobile harvest truck is on the Desert Skies Middle School site on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 9am to 11am. Please help us by bringing your own shopping bags.
Desert Skies is honored to partner with FBNN. This makes it the 4th distribution location in Sun Valley. Now families can access fresh produce on a weekly basis in Sun Valley. To view the Mobile Harvest Schedule click here.

Struggling students and their families have a hard time accessing and navigating the maze of public and private services. There may be ample resources in a community, but rarely is there someone on the ground who is able to connect these resources with the schools and students that need them most. Through a school-based coordinator, we bring community resources into schools to empower success for all students by removing barriers for vulnerable students at risk of dropping out, keeping kids in schools and on the path to graduation and leveraging evidence, relationships and local resources to drive results. Our site Coordinator Angie Ruiz is very instrumental in the success of our Scorpions. Alex can be reached at 775-674-4915 - ext 46026

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and Desert Skies Middle School is proud to offer a lunchtime program as welll as an after-school program for our scorpions. Our students can participate in our lunch time program, where students can play video games, foosball, and hang out with friends instead of going outside. Students can also participate in after-school programs, such as homework club, dance teams, performing arts, leadership and much more, up until 6pm. In order students to participate they must be a member of the B&G program. All they need to do is complete the membership packet and they are IN... remember all DSMS kids are FREE of charge. For families this is an amazing program to use during winter, fall, spring and summer breaks. For more information, please call Boys and Girl at 674-4915 ext 46145 or register at Boys and Girls Club by clicking here & dont forget to watch the orientation video.
