There are suggestions for possible Tier 2 interventions you might add to your site intervention catalog.  As with all interventions it is important to ensure that you have identified the person who will conduct each of these interventions and have provided proper training for those staff members.  

• Use the school refusal assessment to identify root causes for attendance issues
• 10-day informal attendance monitor
• Truancy Letters if truancy is confirmed
  • Note: Truancy letters can be sent through the behavior letter wizard in IC.  Must have 7 days between each letter and third letter must be sent registered mail.
• Draft a formal attendance plan with the family

• Parent Teacher Home Visits
• Check in/Check out
• Check and Connect
• Set up a mentoring program with adult mentors

• Set up a peer mentoring program
• Possible referrals to outside of WCSD resources

• Academic catch up opportunities
  • Lunchtime or after school options
  • Intersession
  • Credit recovery
  • Plans developed with teachers/counselors for making up learning in a way that isn't overwhelming
