Mrs. Coombe
Hello and welcome to a new school year! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nichole Coombe, and I am your child’s new case manager. I know that this is your baby’s first year at a middle school, but together we will get through it every step of the way!
Who Am I?
grew up in a small town, Susanville, CA. I went to Chico State University where I completed my degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary education). I received my Master’s in Special Education in 2013 from Grand Canyon University. I have worked in the district for 19 years now! I have worked at a few elementary schools, including Alyce Taylor ES and most recently Van Gorder ES. Now, I have the honor and privilege of working here at Sky Ranch Middle school and teaching your child!
Expectations
In my classroom, we work hard to accomplish our IEP goals and objectives, but we also get the opportunity to work on our executive functioning skills. Students will discover different skills they need to be successful on their own now and in their future. Some of these skills include organization, time management, perseverance, etc.
I am a big believer that students who practice these skills frequently both in and out of school will make faster progress. I also firmly believe that a child must believe in themselves and understand their strengths and weaknesses to move forward and learn new strategies and skills to grow and be successful.
Contact Information
If you should need to contact me, for any reason at all, you can call me at 775-626-0060 ext. 45935 or email me at ncoombe@washoeschools.net I check my email multiple times throughout the day, so if you need an immediate response, this will likely be the best way to contact me. I believe communication is important between parent, teacher, and student. Do not hesitate to call or email and ask questions if you need clarification. Your child’s journey through middle school should be a positive experience, so working together as a team will allow your child to feel supported not only at home but in the school setting. I am looking forward to a great 6th-grade year working with your child and your family!
