    More Information:

    Form W-4 (Employee's Withholding Certificate)

Form W-4 is an IRS Document that you complete to indicate your tax situation (filing status, dependents, additional withholdings, etc.) to your employer. If too little is withheld, you will generally owe tax when you file your tax return and may owe a penalty. If too much is withheld, you will generally be due a refund.

In 2020, Form W-4 was revised by the IRS. Current employees will not be required to complete a new form. However, those who want to make a change must use the revised form.

Complete a new Form W-4 when changes to your personal or financial situation would change the entries on the form.

For information on filling out Form W-4, refer to the IRS Withholding Estimator.
