Where to Begin

  • Welcome to the Web Content Managers site. You should find everything you need to edit and maintain your website within the Web Content Managers' site. If you are looking for something specific and cannot find it please contact me via email or over Teams. Before we continue, here are a few important things you should always be thinking of when working on your site.

    • You are responsible for making sure the content on your site is ADA accessible. Please do not upload anything that does not meet ADA accessibility. Any content not meeting the strict ADA guidelines will be removed from your site, sometimes without notice.
    • On the main page of the content manager, you will see the Ally Accessibility Tool. This tool is there to help you make sure your site is accessible. There are instructions for maintaining the accessibility of your site in this site located on the Instructions / Tutorials page. Failure to keep your site accessible will result in notification to your direct supervisor/department head/principal and area superintendent. If you feel you are unable to maintain the site to these standards, please follow the instructions below.
      • Department Site/School Site - Contact your supervisor/principal and let them know that you are unable to maintain the site. This way, they can find someone who can.
      • Teacher Site - Contact Michael Morris (District Webmaster). Ask that your teacher site be removed from the district site.
    • When you were given permission to the content management system, you were also added to a group in Teams/Outlook called "Blackboard Website Content Manages Site". This is how I relay important information about your site. If you remove yourself from this group, you will be removed as a content manager.
    • If you feel you are unable to maintain your site properly, please contact your site administrator and let them know you do not want to be responsible for the site.
    • Keep the contents of your site up to date. Remove any pages, apps, documents, and images from your site. If you are adding something to your site, you should also take the time to make sure you are not letting false information get out because you did not remove the outdated content. Please be sure to visit the Site Clean-up instructions located on the Tutorials/Instructions page for detailed instructions on keeping your site up to date.
    • Do not download content from another site and upload it to your site. Doing this will make you responsible for keeping that content up to date. Instead, just create a link with a description of that content. This way you can point that link to the page of the department/school responsible for making sure that content is up to date.
      • Downloading content from the internet without written permission from the content owner or creator is copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is against the law and usually comes with healthy fines and possible litigation. If you see something that you want to use, create a link to that content. If it is openly available on the net, then you will not be violating any copyright law.
