Instructions Regarding Policies and Regulations
-
The district site has a lot of web content editors and those editors upload a lot of documents. Documents can cause a lot of issues if they are not kept up to date and organized. Below is information on handling documents on your site.
Controlled Documents
Controlled documents are documents that are part of the district's policies and regulations and are recognizable by a control number at the beginning of the document's name. These documents can be located on the WCSDPolicy.net site where they are constantly updated. The site was specifically built to house these documents ensuring that you the user get the most up-to-date version of that document. That being said it is very important that you do not download a copy of a document off this site and upload it to your site. Instruction for linking to the specific document will be displayed when you click on a document from this site.
- Use the links on the WCSDPolicy.net site to link to a controlled document.
- Controlled documents found on sites other than WCSDPolicy.net will be deleted without notice.
- If you have questions about documents found on the WCSDPolicy.net site, please contact America Gillespie in the Legal Services.

Outdated Documents
This one is simple. When you are uploading new and updated documents to your site are you taking the time to remove the old outdated document or are you just ignoring it? Outdated information is a very big problem within the district site and it is your responsibility to remove old documents and information from your site. Even if a document is not linked from your page it can be found using the district sites search engine. Take the time to make sure your site is only providing the most current and up-to-date information available. Remove old documents and images from the files and folders section of the content manager.
